Ever since I read The Luminous Eye by Sebastian Brock I have been both a fan of the Syriac stream of Christianity as well as of Brock's writings. I ran across his An Introduction to Syriac Studies on the web and realized that this was my next book purchase!

Gorgias Press is publishing these Syriac Studies as a way to revive interest in this theological stream of Christianity...they even say that they realize that there is not a large market for them.

After reading Brock's new book, I plan to take up ancient Ugaritic. (I actually had a professor once, the late Fr. William Most, who could read it!)
