After reading this in a post on one of our other forums,

'Carry your cross daily, or at least have one hanging from your rear view mirror'.

I thought to ask this question.

I see many rosaries hanging from the rear view mirror. Do you have a religious item in your car for God's protection?

I have always made a point of having a small, usually laminated paper, icon in my car, and also in my wallet.

My aunt gave me a "laminated paper icon" of Jesus and it is on dashboard of my car - Jesus is watching me. Just looking. Staring. Eyeing me every move I make ...

I have a visor clip I purchased on the internet a few years ago. It is a crucifix with Adam underneath. Karl Malden would be proud of me--I never travel without it!

For the longest time I've had a Holy card of Jesus with the act of contrition on the back, and a Pieta card, on my dashboard.

I used to have some magnetic icons, but since they no longer have any metal in the front they sit in a drawer at home. The double sticky pads just do not do the trick when your car in the hot sun for any period of time. The visors on the new cars are also too thick for a visor clip now. So it is just what I have from my rear view mirror.

Alice,

Nice topic. :-)

I have a rosary hanging from the rear view mirror, and I have a laminated prayer card of the Vladimir Theotokos in the cup holder.

John,

I agree with the first part of your post, but to have something in the cup holder other than a cup of coffee, I don't know wink .

For starters, my car gets blessed on the (ridiculous Gregorian Calendar) Feast of St. Elias. I have a religious bumber sticker as well as several religious window clings, at least one Chotki and one Rosary in the glove box, several visor clips, and a dash board Icon.

I am also tempted to add one of those big metal IC XC fish that eats the Darwin fish with legs...
