The priest of St. Luke's in Sugar Creek, MO., is going in for minor surgery today. Please pray especially for him as he is diabetic and going under completely does him in for days. I am sure that it will be a few days before he is able to function normally, etc. So please pray for him.

Heavenly Father, physician of our souls and bodies, Who have sent Your only-begotten Son and our Lord Jesus Christ to heal every sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your Priest-servant from all physical and spiritual ailments through the grace of Your Christ. Grant him patience in this sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your word to pray for each other that we may be healed. I pray, heal Your servant and grant to him the gift of complete health. For You are the source of healing and to You I give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

An Update: I spoke with Fr. Steven this afternoon. He sounded very groggy, in a lot of pain ... but his surgery was successful. Pray for a good recovery over the next week! Thanks!

I spoke with him yesterday early evening - in good spirits but very tired and can't drive for a while. He is going through a difficult time, so prayers are appreciated.

Almighty God and heavenly Father, You are the fountain of life and healing. I bless Your holy name and offer to You thanks for having delivered Fr. Steven from sickness and restored him to health. Grant him Your eternal grace, I pray, that he may live a full life in true obedience to You. Guide him to do Your will in all things as he has devoted his life to Your service. Thus living for You may he be found worthy of Your kingdom, where You dwell in glory with Your Son and Your Holy Spirit forever. Amen.
