Glory to Jesus Christ! Слава Ісусу Христу!

Reverend Fathers, bless!

I am writing to request prayers for me, the sinful servant of God Timothy. I am 24 years old and a member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church in Harrisburg, PA. I am disabled due to several health problems and unable to work. Last year I had brain surgery to remove a tumor (which is not a part of the problems that disable me, as glory to God it was an easy and successful surgery). I have an anxiety disorder and Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) which keeps me unable to do much outside the house, unable to support myself, and currently I am also unable to go to church, but that is beside the point. Last week I had Fr. John from St. Ann's come to the house to hear my confession and give me the Holy Mysteries. He will be doing this now on a monthly basis. I feel strongly I have a vocation to the traditional Eastern monastic life, however due to my infirmity, I don't know if/when/how it would be possible. So, I live basically a similar life in the world as a layman. I just would like to request your prayers for me. BTW, I have been on this forum before in the past if anyone remembers my name.

Timothy

TIM:

Prayers for your cross to be lighter.

In a certain sense we are all monastics in that we live prophetically in being followers of Jesus Christ. Contineu to do what you can do at home: pray at regular times, fast as you can, stay close to the Lord in the Mysteries as you can do so, and pray for us who are out here struggling, too.

Prayers that you will persevere and not get discouraged. Prayers that you will also remember that Pope Pius IX suffered from epileptic seizures as a youth, but no mention of them was ever made again after his ordination to the priesthood. God can do anything.

Almighty God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, come to Tim's help and deliver him from the difficulties that beset him. I believe Lord, that all trials of life are under Your care and that all things work for the good of those who love You. Take away from Tim fear, anxiety and distress. Help him to face and endure difficulty with faith, courage and wisdom. Grant that these trials may bring him closer to You for You are his rock and refuge, his comfort and hope, his delight and joy. He trust in Your love and compassion. Blessed is Your name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
