Good evening.

Yesterday I received news that Monsignor Antonios Aziz Mina, recently elected to be Titular Bishop of Mareotes and Auxiliary of His Beatitude Stephanos II Ghattas, Patriarch of Alexandria and Cardinal, will be consecrated on 13 February 2003 in Alexandria, Egypt by Cardinal Ghattas. All the bishops of the Coptic Catholic Church will be co-consecrators.

Peace,

Charles

Dear Charles,

He doesn't want to travel to Rome?

You mean he's actually satisfied with having bishops of is own Particular Church consecrate?

What's the matter with him? wink

Hello Alex,

Actually, he`s at present a bureau chief in the Congregation for the Eastern Churches. He has been in Rome for quite a few years. He is fluent in several European languages including Italian, German, French, and (I believe) English.

Peace,

Charles

Dear Charles,

One would think, then, that he'd WANT to be consecrated at Rome!

And despite the fact that he doesn't, he is still so "universal" in knowing languages etc.

I admire his not wanting to "copt" out of this thing . . .

Have a good weekend!

Dear Alex,

He is indeed universal. I sent him an e-mail in English and he replied in Italian.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Peace,

Charles
