The Divine Liturgy of the Eparchy of Passaic is a recension of the 1965 liturgikon? Where in that liturgikon is the text "With wisdom, let us profess our faith"???
The rubrics for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy that are currently promulgated in the Eparchy of Passaic are close - but not identical - to those contained in the proposed Revised Divine Liturgy that is under consideration by our bishops. These rubrics are, unfortunately, a radical departure from both the rubrics given in 1965 edition of the liturgicon and those used in the other Churches of the Ruthenian Recension.

The invitation to pray the Symbol of Faith using the words With wisdom, let us profess our faith! is not part of the proposed Revised Divine Liturgy. It is unique to the Passaic Eparchy.

We are wandering from the original topic of the thread. I ask those wishing to continue a discussion on this new topic to begin a new thread with an appropriate title. Thanks!

Dear Administrator,

Just a note to say how much you should be admired!

You are the only one I know who can get criticized for something and yet come back with a "Thanks!" smile

Next time I get into trouble here, I'll try responding with a "Much appreciated" or "I'm truly grateful!"

Alex,

I enjoy your posts. Stick around.

For anyone coming to Uniontown from the Philly area or are planning to use I-76, please be aware of PA Turnpike construction between the Allegheny Mountian Tunnel and the Donegal exit. Anyone from Baltimore or DC would be better off to use I-68 to Keysers Ridge and take US 40 to Uniontown.

I don't get back to PA very often, but will be back this long-weekend, and hope to make it to Uniontownski on Sunday, if my folks are up to it.

I don't mean to spook anyone, I just would like to take the opportunity to get my hands on the some edition, if only a working edition, of the new music. And even more, I would love to have the opportunity to hear it. So if any of you are leading a liturgy and planning to use it (or are bringing scores), please let me know, and I'll try to look you up.

Although I'll be navigating the rain and fog of Alaska and can't be in Uniontownskovich, I suggest you wear a distinctive hat or at least put a colorful flower in your lapel to make you identifiable!!!

Do great work (again!!) with your camera. I look forward to seeing the images at some time, assuming that the Administrator will have the time to "convert them" and put them on-line. (Sheesh, we even convert the images. I'm sure that there is a deep theological import to this process! How DOES one chrismate a .jpeg file?)

Blessings!

Was my grammar wrong? I was thinking of this:
"Palomniki Uniontownski pojte veselo..."

Worse yet, "Uniontownski" is an adjective, not a place. So to call it "Uniontownski" is quaint, but not correct... :p

I knew I could count on you to point out the error in my grammar. Again. wink But to be accused of quaintness. Ouch.

Actually, I thought that the various Unions (Uzhorod, for example) were called "unia"... not in any derogatory manner, just as a matter of fact. So, I was aiming more for that. I guess my sense of humor gets wonky about midnight; the "city of Union" sounded fun to me. My apologies if it came across as an insult to anyone.

No apology needed from you from my POV...
But for some reason "unia" seems to function as a singular noun when used by "orthodocks" in a derogatory way, e.g., "he was received from the Unia", "the Uzhhorod Unia", etc.

For you history buffs, it's interesting that the GC parish in Uniontown never had a split during the 1930s; nor did the nearby parishes in New Salem and Leisenring. So truly it is "uniatetown". (Not that there's anything wrong with that! cool )
