I have spent a considerable amount of time over the years in prayer with psalm #139. It always brings tears to my eyes when I consider the infinite love God our Father has for us, His children. So I thought I would ask anyone who might feel so inclined to share which psalm is the most meaningful to them.

Psalm 139
1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
5 You hem me in�behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Though it is not a Psalm, this always reminds me of one...
Zephaniah 3:
14
Shout for joy, O daughter Zion! sing joyfully, O Israel! Be glad and exult with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!

The LORD has removed the judgment against you, he has turned away your enemies; The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst, you have no further misfortune to fear.

On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not, O Zion, be not discouraged!

The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior; He will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, He will sing joyfully because of you,

Pani Rose: Thank you for sharing this beautiful and meaningful Scripture. Today I will use this as the basis for my Lectio. There is a beautiful rock and flower garden here with a few benches in secluded areas. I will be taking my bible with me and spending time with the Lord in this Word from Him. Thank you!!

Psalm 67, which opens Paschal Matins and is an important feature in the hymnody of Bright Week:
Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered, and let them that hate Him flee from before His face. As smoke vanisheth, so let them vanish; as wax melteth before the fire, so let sinners perish at the presence of God. And let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice in the presence of God, let them delight in gladness.

My favorite is Psalm 50 (51), the Miserere.
I have much to atone for. He has "broken my bones" so that I not wander far from Him. I need a "clean heart" and a "firm spirit". Only then I can place "holocausts" on the altar of God, and begin to sanctify my life.
I also like Psalm 49 (50), as a "preface" to the Miserere.

Blessings, Silouan, Mary's monk Oh Holy MOnk that I could join you on that bench. What a blessing! It is kind of mind boggeling to me at times to realize that Lord does rejoice over us, we are not told that very often, and if we are - we forget. Imagine! That God rejoices over me... The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing as on a day of festival.

Where can I find in the Holy Scripture Zephaniah? (!) A favourite psalm for my soul is the 42nd. 1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

I'm partial to Psalm 27, particularly to verse 4:
"One thing I ask of the Lord, this I seek: to dwell in the Lord's house all the days of my life, to gaze on the Lord's beauty, to visit his temple."

Psalm 91 it is for me too.
For He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your
foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and serpent
you will trample underfoot.
Along with psalm 50/51 this has always been my favorite.
