Commenting that Bishop Elias Zoghby's book, Bishop John Elya states:

"He [the author] recognizes the primacy but only of honor to the Church of Rome."

What that exactly means?

Ha, Ha. I thought that Pani Rose's response was a joke saying that Rome is first among equals, with equals being Schismatics!

It is funny, I loaned one person my copy of 'We are all Schismatics' and it made huges rounds around the parish before I got it back. I was not worried about getting it back, but it was funny, they kept handing it off to someone else.

Fr. Prof. Petro Bilaniuk of St Michael's University in Toronto also maintained that we are all in schism.

Perhaps Father Petro is right. But, perhaps it is also the case that schism is inevitable. Perhaps, all that matters is that each person be in an apostolic church receiving the Eucharist. perhaps Who is in communion with whom is not so important. Who knows? Just random thoughts.

Is the Zoghby Initiative something that most Eastern Rite bishops would support?

There has been some debate on this issue over the past few centuries. In spite of Anglican insistance to the positive, the Orthodox do not hold that the Anglican Church has maintained Apostolic succession and do not hold Anglican orders to be valid. The loss of apostolic succession is due in large part to the strong anti-catholic sentiment that held sway in England from the 1580's to the mid 1660's that prevented even high church Anglicans from keeping too close to the old traditions. I do not believe Rome recognizes Anglican succession or their orders any longer either or so I gather when Al Kimel aka "the Pontificator" was ordained into the RC priesthood last year. In any case with the increasing occurence of women bishops in the Anglican communion the whole issue of apostolic succession may be moot anyway.
