What cuties!  They remain in our prayers. Father Maximos, do donations through you go to the Dogarus, or must they pass on all donations to the hospital?

Dear Wondering:
We've asked for donations to support the family. Right now I'm getting advice on how best to get the money to family directly, as they have many expenses in addition to the hospital bills. Anyone who has had children in long-term hospital care knows that just being at the hospital and taking the kids to doctors is itself a full time--and entirely unpaid--job. As you can imagine, Father Alin's priest's salary is completely inadequate to cover all their expenses. The diocese is certainly doing all it can to help, but it too is very small and thinly stretched.
Right now I'm looking at some options for getting the money to the family directly without unnecessary complications (especially income tax). The worst that can happen with a donation through the monastery is that we may find it necessary to send the money directly to the hospital to avoid such complications. But frankly, that is unlikely. And in any event, as the monastery will pay all Paypal and other fees as part of our contribution, you can be sure all the money will go directly to benefit the twins and their family.
