Terry, please create a new post elsewhere regarding discussion of the topic and not the book.

Thank you.

Michael

Good discussion but lets keep it centered on the book itself. I have edited some comments not in keeping with the book. If you wish to discuss the topic of are we schismatics, please create a new topic in the Faith forum possibly.

In Christ,

Michael.

Is it likely that the efforts of Bishop Zoghby and his supporters will help reunion between the Roman Church and Orthodoxy?

As far as the book goes.....

no I wouldn't say the book is a must read. Intersting yes, but it's highly personal. It was also meant to be a "shock-book" and it's rather overcome by events.

If you interested in Bishop Elias' thoughts by all means read it. If you're looking for something representative of the Melkite Church's opinion I'd look elsewhere (e.g. the book of speeches given by Patriarch Gregorios that Sophia press printed a few years ago or Fr. Serge Descy's book "the Melkite Church" or Fr. Ignatios Dick's "Melkites").

Phillipe-

I'll get out my copy and give you an answer to your question in the next few days. If I don't please PM in order to remind me.

Alex

I have read in many places that we mutally excommincated each other. So only God knows for sure. He just leaves our enquiring minds something to wonder about. biggrin
