I picked up the Orthodox New Testament at Light and Life Publishing yesterday. It translates from the 1912 Byzantine Text, and uses the KJV as a starting point, but clarifying some words. It uses words Greek theological words, like Logos and hypostasis in the text. It is wonderful, maintaining much the KJV phraseology, but more accurate and understandable. Retains thees and thous, eth, est, verb endings. I just love it. Also has icons printed on several pages. Fits in a small bible cover, very portable. It has very easy to read print, large for the size of the book, and is printed in single column format. I highly recommend it. It is my new first string bible.

Is this the one-volume edition you've got? The 2-volume edition is even better as it includes many more icons and a patristic commentary. I agree with all the positive things you've said, and the larger text size is a real boon.

Brigid, it is only the one volume I have at the moment- but I am looking forward to picking up the two hard bound volumes with all of the notes and commentary as soon as I am able. But I am enjoying the text version. It is a delight to read!

Yes indeed, I got the one-volume edition first as well and am glad to have both.

Do you think when they are finished translating the LXX they will bound both OT and NT into one BIble or Book?

Would someone be so kind as to list the ISBN number and full title of this Bible? Thank you.

Blessings,

Have been thinking of getting this one myself. Currently it is most likely to be with money for my birthday and Nativity (both in December)...

If I'm not mistaken, Holy Apostles Convent is a schismatic, Old Calendarist group.

Maybe so, but their two-volume edition of the New Testament is outstanding: especially for the patristic commentary.
