I'd like to know how many Orthodox Christian churches refer to Byzantine Catholics as "OICWR". We can call ourselves whatever we want, but in reality who else out there recognizes this title?
Sam
No one in an Eastern Orthodox Church uses or recognizes the term "OICWR".

Beware of blanket statements like that - I don't care for the acronym (I seldom care for acronyms), but there are some Orthodox here and there who do acknowledge the existence of Orthodox in communion with Rome.

Good point. You are right I should not have made a "blanket statement".
In my personal opinion, I find that most Orthodox (with Ukrainians and Russians being the exception, are not aware of forums such as this one with Orthodox-Eastern Catholic discussions. I know from personal experience of talking to co-workers or neighbours who are Greek Orthodox or in discussions with feloow Orthodox at the annual "Sunday of Orthodoxy" vespers. Most Orthodox also would be unaware of the terminology of and Eastern Catholic using the identification as "Orthodox in Union with Rome."
I think most Orthodox would be confused by the term. If a person partakes of communion in an Eastern Orthodox Church, that person is Eastern Orthodox.
