The Slavonic liturgy was wonderful and well-attended for one of the smaller liturgies.

The weather was beautiful, and the attendance much better than the past few years; the teen program is still growing, with Sister Celeste mentioning that they had about 50 teens in the Prayer Garden this year. There were MANY campers, quite a few of them large families with children.

There was a lot of singing, mostly in English but with Slavonic hymn-singing at almost every service, as well as around the grounds; at the hierarchical liturgy litany responses were taken in English, Slavonic, Greek, and a fourth language I didn't get a chance to identify. The porch-singing was great (though by the time I got there they had moved on from the Marian Hymnal to a smaller one I didn't have a copy of).

Joe Prokopchak was there taking pictures, so God willing there may be another photo gallery here soon!

Yours in Christ,
Jef

Jeff,

According to my count during the RDL English Pontifical/Hierarchial 4:00 PM liturgy:

-the only Greek used was the bishop's "Hagios" at the trisagion

-the only Church Slavonic was two verses of "Mnohaja L'ita" and one line of the Marian hymn "Radusja Carice" at the end of the liturgy. So it really was a 99.9% RDL English liturgy.

Ungcsertez.

PS They shouldn't have placed Bishop George fully vested in the sun for the entire liturgy. That somehow seems disrespectful.

Yeah, that was too bad. Last year at the Panachida at the Cemetery all the priests & bishops processed out and they left him sitting there in his wheelchair. I was hoping it was because the clergy were caught up in the moment, but after seeing this again, someone needs to be more responsible.....just my two cents.

Jeff,

Nice to see you and your family on Sunday. You may have been thinking about the evening Moleben where there was a set of "Lord have Mercy" in English, Slavonic, Greek and Hungarian.

Yes, I was - thanks! (There were a LOT of services, and my wife, who has mobility problems, managed to come along, so things were sometimes wonderfully hectic.)
