So now the Uniontown Otpust is to be an anti RDL rally rather than a gather for prayer and reflection? How sad indeed. Such public shows of divisiveness a wearing T-shirts with negative slogans will surely have a negative impact on the future of Uniontown pilgrimages rather than effect positive change in the Byzantine Ruthenian Metropolia.

Relax! We're just having a little fun on the board. We're all adults and I believe that nobody will be a disruptive influence this weekend.

Oh, Steve we're all just trying to have a little fun. Haven't you heard the saying, if you don't laugh about it, you'll cry. I think we're all smart enough to realize that's not the place to vent our frustrations -- though I will be praying this weekend for the nonsense to end -- as I'm sure so many others there will be doing, too. And besides, if I thought all it would take is a few well worded T-shirts to put this baby to bed, I would have done it last year. Sadly, I think it will now take a miracle.

The seora and I may stop by on Sunday, as we are going to Ohiopyle for a picnic Sunday morning.

This was the first time in nine years I didn't go to Uniontown to volunteer.I never receive a phone call or any mail, and I've been working on the house sine we have a baby on the way.

They will need help cleaning up - I'll see what I have time for.

For all those "Vostochniks", especially those who stay up Sunday night to sing the Rusyn-Slavonic paraliturgical Marian Hymns on the barracks porch, bring your blue 1984 Otpust' Marian Pisni book. I hope Cantor John will be at this year's Otpust.

Fr. Serge,

Ukrainian probably would not go over too well at the Uniontown Otpust, but I'd take it over "who loves us all." wink

Glory to Jesus Christ!!

It was a very good Otpust.

The Slavonic liturgy was wonderful and well-attended for one of the smaller liturgies.

The weather was beautiful, and the attendance much better than the past few years; the teen program is still growing, with Sister Celeste mentioning that they had about 50 teens in the Prayer Garden this year. There were MANY campers, quite a few of them large families with children.

There was a lot of singing, mostly in English but with Slavonic hymn-singing at almost every service, as well as around the grounds; at the hierarchical liturgy litany responses were taken in English, Slavonic, Greek, and a fourth language I didn't get a chance to identify. The porch-singing was great (though by the time I got there they had moved on from the Marian Hymnal to a smaller one I didn't have a copy of).

Joe Prokopchak was there taking pictures, so God willing there may be another photo gallery here soon!

Yours in Christ,
Jef
