What are some modern Eastern Saints that we recognize?

It might be a tad easier to answer your question if you specify exactly who "we" are.

For me as a Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic, I pray to the 20th century martyrs of the Soviet era, such as Mykolay Charnetsky, Theodore Romzha, Paul Godjich, Alexandr Chira, Vasyl Hopko, and others. I hope to see them all canonized soon, in my life time.

I also admire and have asked prayers for the Servant of God Oscar Romero of the Americas.

The question

Quote
What are some modern Eastern Saints ...?

is a bit bizarre. "Saints" is a word whose meaning - at least in Christian ecclesiastical use - is not conditioned by modernity. The questioner might be seeking information as to the identity of some specific Saint or Saints - but in that case the pronoun is properly "who", not "what".

Apart from the martyrs, I would not attempt to answer the question "what is a Saint?"; that is really known only to God.

Aleksandr's comment that it would have been helpful for the questioner to have clarified his use of "we recognize" is well taken, since the questioner does not specify whom he has in mind by "we", and the questioner's profile gives no indication of what Church, if any, he belongs to or identifies with.

What i mean to ask is what are some post 1055ad Saints on the Eastern(any Easter)Calendar. I am in a discussion with someone I am under the impression that the Western Church recognizes Eastern Saints.

Loc: Steubenville? Me too.

There is a thread (and possible many) on this topic. Their saints are our saints. Whether on the liturgical calendar or not.

Seriously though, you won't get a straight answer on this.

If you really want one to ponder, try figuring out how Saint Isaac the Syrian (Saint Isaac of Ninevah) got on the Calendar of the Roman Church, the Eastern Catholic Churches of the Byzantine Tradition, the Eastern Orthodox Churches AND the Assyrian Church of the East.

He lived and died a canonical member of the Assyrian Church of the East!
