I think she has made herself a target...for mercy. Many who openly attack Catholicism often later come full circle and embrace it.

Seems to me she isn`t too far from bottom now. Sorry but it just makes me angry to see the sacraments mocked especially when we hear about it all the time anymore. Prayers she will one day personally know the beauty of the sacrament she mocks today.

We shouldn't criticize her for her action, remember what Christ said at the crucifixtion "Father forgive them for they know ot what they do..." If Ms. Spears knew the full gravity of what she was mocking she would not be mocking it. I agree with what everyone has said here so far, that she has made herself a target for mercy, grace, and compassion. Let's all remeber her in our prayers today and at Liturgy on Sunday.

Again, if you look at the photos of her with the priest on the link, she is just another someone trying to get (negative) attention by mocking the RC Church and celibacy.

Ofcourse, in a relative world, of which entertainers live in to the nth degree, she would not understand the sacrament of confession, because in morally relative minds, there really is no sin.

Entertainers will do anything these days to push the limit 'just a little further' on anything that has shock value, and mocking the RC church is right up there in shock value as much as sex. Curiously, the venom towards the former is often because of its stands on the latter...

Let's hope that one day soon that this will be 'old news', and that maybe the pop entertainers might turn to something at the other end of the spectrum, like--I don't know-- maybe proper lyrics extolling love and emotion, rather than sex and lust, and dances that are sexy but not actual simulations of sex, etc....

Oh well...she is young. She might just come around one of these days. In the meantime, Christos_Anesti is right: may God forgive her because she really does NOT know what she is doing; and neither does Madonna, etc., etc., etc.,...

How disgusting that she would do that! It is awful that these people profane such sacred things!!!!!! May the Lord have mercy on these people and wake them up!!!! Our society is in enough of a mess.

I cannot imagine being hounded by professional or amateur paparazzi day and night, surrounding my car not letting me get out without their pestering me. So they can sell the pictures to publishers who intend to mock my every move, reminding me of my fall from fame. Pictures tell a thousand wards, how much more could someone in her position take?

She needs to realize that her previous role as a sex icon cannot return.
