All of the 70's Disco singers Ohhhh, Alice. I used to have such high regard for you! I have an on-line confession to make...I have an Abba CD in my car! I know...shudders. But take a chance on me! Neil Diamond's early years (before he got all drippy and sang with Barbra Streisand, who gives me the hives) LOL! I'm with you 100%. Apart from "What's Up Doc", I can't pay her any attention whatsoever. Of course, the WORST of the WORST is Bette Middler and "Wind Beneath My Wings". FLLLLLLYYYYYYYyyyyoooooooOOOOOOoooohhhhhhhFFLLLLYYYYYYYYYYAAAAHHHHHH... It makes me want to grap a sharp utensil and stick it in my EYE! (EYYYYYYEEEOOOOOAAAHHHHHHHHHOOOHHoooooohhhhaaaahhhhheeeeEEEYYYYE!) NOW back to our regularly scheduled program! Gordo

At my office, we listen to "Soft Rock" and there are the worst of the worst of 70s cheesy artists on that station, along with the usual offenders such as "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "From a Distance." Why would God be watching us from a distance anyways? Yeah, we get Seals and Crofts, America, Gloria Estefan, etc... I can feel my testosterone drop.

At work we have "muzac" (I work part-time as a courtesy clerk at Ralphs Supermarket) and every morning I am able to tell what time it is based on when I head Bette Middler sing "From a Distance". If destruction of another's property wasn't a sin those cds would have been broken long ago.

Well, since this is now an online confessional I bought a CD for charity at Kohl's the other day -- for charity, really -- Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby singing Christmas carols. (Not together, the tracks alternate who is singing.) My beloved husband is surely rolling over in his grave with horror that I bought a Christmas album in October. And I cannot believe that somewhere along the line, I became an old fogey.

Since it's musical confession time, I confess that a few days ago I cranked up my effects box turned on my Dunlop wah peddle and played the Jimi Hendrix Woodstock version of the Star Bangled Banner on my Fender Stratocaster. My brother who's 4 years older said it sounded great.

Musical Confession: I started on the guitar when I was 12, when I was 30 I was told that to truly use the radial pulse as a diagnostic tool, I had to give up playing the guitar all together. I was literally sick that whole weekend, but I filed off my callouses and the the tips of my right fingers so they'd match. I haven't really touched my guitars since. I even sold my half stack and my Strat. Both for significant losses since the market for musical instruments bottomed out since China makes 'em so cheap now!

I don't listen to nearly enough classical music. Usually, it's when I'm driving and I tune in the local public radio station. I did like to listen to Bach back in college . . . especially the Brandenberg concertos. Very mathematical; it's like listening to algebra come alive in joy.
-- John Same here, I really do want to start listen to more. On my comcast (horrible company btw, worse comsumer service ever) digital cable theres a channel that plays classical music that lately I have been listening to when I read, Bach is becoming my favorite.
