PANI ROSE:

Do you know what's behind part of this move? The article on the web says that the whiskey is in 3 liter bottles, a size that cannot be legally sold in the U.S. Talk about a holdover from Prohibition!!! mad

When I was young and we had dental work that involved novocaine, my mother would give us a little shot to swirl around in our mouths to "pull" the novocaine out and sooth us. Of course, she also told us we should never waste a good shot--so we couldn't spit it out. I always loved going to the dentist!! biggrin

I'm with AMM. I'd be glad to store all those illegal bottles for the government and guarantee that no one would sell it illegally. Hey, AMM, would you come over and help me guard the bottles? wink grin BTW, if I do get to store them, all the folks on the forum can come over and help us guard them, too.

Just reread the story on FoxNews.com and the article says that the bottles could be legally sold in Italy. So why if they were stored in a warehouse and just not shipped coudl they be seized? Doesn't look like anyone was selling the stuff except that a bottle appears to have been discovered in a motel room.

Speaking of whiskey, I received as a gift a bottle of Jameson 15-year old Pot-Stilled. Not knowing much about Irish Whiskey, I defer to suggestions as to it's proper disposal from those more in the know concerning such matters.

If you have a sipping glass (like a snifter, but smaller) or a rocks/old fashioned glass, those should work. The only thing else is a little water to open the aroma.

Then, slowly savor.

Sure! Go to your local Church and follow the Babushki home. Check out who has an inordinate amount of empty potato sacks lying around and steam rising from her basement. Knock on the door and ask to buy some Водка бабушки. You'll either get a bottle, or whacked with a broom!

Actually look for First Guild Premium Vodka, or anything labeled Gorilka.

You ordered protestant whisky!
Whisky doesn't age in the bottle (only in the casks before bottling), this question was asked at the beginning of the thread.
