This is ABSOLUTELY, TRULY AMAZING!

Thank you Gordo!!!

I wanted to bring this to everyone's attention, because it is very common to miss threads after not being on the forum for a day....

I have actually sent this link out to friends whom I knew would enjoy it...

Infact, this is so monumental that I may post it as 'sticky' at the end of the day or suggest to Fr. Anthony that we incorporate it somewhere on this site permanently...

Alice, enjoying this in a bittersweet manner--especially when I read how this or that monument was 'demolished' in the early 1800's for railways, etc...what a lack of cultural, historical, and artistic sensitivity!

It is bittersweet. I would have loved to have prayed in the Church of the Holy Apostles.

Agreed.

I wish they would do the same for some of the Syrian style churches with the full bema.

I saw a marvelous documentary while traveling recently on the churches of Cappadocia - especially the ones made in the mountains. THese ancient churches truly are inspiring.

Awesome...my Art History paper is about early Icons of the Theotokos, but I am definitely going to find a way to incorporate some of these images in there as well....
Thank you for posting this.
