Detailed information for the 70th Annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Uniontown, PA is now online. Please click here to view it. The page contains the general schedule for the pilgrimage as well as separate schedules for young adult, teen and children's events. There are also links to photo coverage of the last six pilgrimages.

If you can, please e-mail the Sisters of Saint Basil at osbmolph@verizon.net and thank them for 70 years of pilgrimage ministry.

We are hoping that byzcath.org photographer Joe Prokopchak will once again provide us with photo coverage (this will be his 7th year in donating his time for this photo ministry). All are invited to submit photos (electronic fomat only) from the Pilgrimage or any event in any of the Byzantine Catholic Churches for display here.

gtJC!

Thank you for post. It proved to be a reminder that I need to call Str. Martha again and double check on the wheel chair for my friend Jenny.

Friends,

I had high hopes of returning for the 70th annual pilgrimage but my son is getting married on that weekend in Wisconsin. I had hopes of meeting many more and renewing acquaintances with others. Alas the best I can do is direct you to my picture from last year. I'm the guy with the beard on page 6. I let you guess which one. wink

There's something I've been wondering about: if the first pilgrimage was in 1934, wouldn't this year's pilgrimage be the 71st rather than the 70th pilgrimage? (St. Tikon's first pilgrimage was in 1905 and the 100th pilgrimage was this year, 2004).

Dear Servant of God, Fr. Matthew,

Glory to Jesus Christ !

I asked Sr. Ruth your question this morning at Otpust. She said 1934 was the dedication of the Motherhouse and it was decided that every year after that they would hold a pigrimage.

1935 was really the first pilgrimage but they are counting the dedication ceremony in 1934 as the first pigrimage.

Did I explain that right? I re-read my own post and don't understand what I wrote.

They started in 1934 but the first pilgrimage wasn't until 1935 or something like that.
