Larissa is a 19-yr-old woman in Ottawa, Ontario that has had major problems with her heart. Her defibrillator ended up shocking her heart 37 times in 6 hours and she is now under heavy sedation, now awaiting a heart transplant. She and her mother, Terri, have been members of our parish in Ottawa for many, many years. Please pray for her.

Oh dear that is terrible--my humble and unworthy prayers for God's young servant, Larissa...Please dear God intervene quickly for a new compatible heart to come to Larissa, so that she may be restored to health.

For those who have been praying for 19 year old Larissa, here's an update.
After spending a long time in an operating room with her chest open , the doctors closed her chest. They have assisted her heart with a partial artificial heart that is outside her body as she waits for a heart that can be transplanted in her. She is third in the waiting list at the Ottawa Heart Institute. She started to speak just a few words last week, and is already involved in short conversation already. She does not remember what happened (perhaps a grace for the Lord?).
While Larissa is not yet aware of how many of you are praying for her, her mother, Terri, thanks you all very much - they are helping.
Larissa still has a long way to go. May the Lord bless and heal His daughter.
