I pray the Jesus Prayer in line for the Holy Mysteries (with my arms crossed over my chest), and afterwards when I have received and also taken the "zapivka", I return to my place and say three times, "Slava Tebe, Bozhe" making the sign of the cross. Beyond that I read part of the after-communion prayers quietly from the Old Orthodox Prayer Book, in English and Slavonic.

I say "That I may be worthy to welcome the King of All invisibly escorted by ranks of Angels."

I bow before saying it.

I am with alice that is what I also pray. Lord Jesus Christ Son of the Living God have mercy on me a sinner.
And also when I prostrate myself I pray
I believe Lord and firmly profess that this is Your most holy body and precious blood. Be merciful to me a sinner 3X.

After Communion:

Glory to Thee, O Christ, Our God and Our Sure Hope, glory to Thee. (3 times)

Pass through me, Most Holy Master, and absorb Yourself into every fiber of my being so that I may go forth from this place to be Your Eyes to seek out, Your Ears to listen, Your Voice to encourage and to pray, Your Hands to work, Your Arms to embrace, and Your Legs to carry me to wherever You may need Your Presence to be.

Pass through me, O Holy and Divine Fire, and burn away all the thorns of my own sin, wicked habits and thoughts, and sinful inclinations that threaten to choke out Your Life in me as the thorns choked out the Word in the Parable of the Sower. Make me the kind of example You want me to be for Your People, help me to love You always above everything, show me Your Kindness, grant me a spirit of true repentance, keep me close to You always, and then do with me what You will. AMEN.

Pass through me, O Holy and Divine Fire, and set my heart on fire with love for You, O Christ our God, that in its flame I may love You with my whole heart, my whole soul, my whole mind, and my whole strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that, keeping Your commandments I may give glory to You, the Giver of all good things. AMEN.

I must agree with Father Serge. This is a moment of intense intimacy with Christ and His (and my) Father, and the Holy Spirit.

Pray? I maneuver 5 children up the line and manage their reception as they go up. I wish I had the ability to prayerful approach on Sundays. For me I'm trying to imbue a proper sense of reverence in the little gremlins and with a 90 to 120 minute service I tend to be more consciously prayerful on the weekday liturgies.

Dear Brother or Sister in Christ,

I understand.

When I had my children with me, I could never profoundly and prayerfully participate in the Divine Liturgy.
