Perhaps you might want to help out your own. Saint Nicholas Byzantine (Ruthenian) Catholic Church in New Orleans I am sure could use help. They are under the Eparchy of Parma. Here is a link to there information: https://www.byzcath.org/lists/usa50/la.htm If anyone knows how to help them out please post here. BTW, to give you an idea of how bad it is, there are BODIES floating in the streets of New Orleans.

The parish is under the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, not the Eparchy of Parma.

Dear Ray S:
Don't you think it would be better if relief efforts is coordinated with the Pittsburgh Archeparchy, to which St. Nicholas of New Orleans belong?
Although there is nothing wrong in remitting private donations directly to St. Nicholas in New Orleans. The only problem is the entire City may be out of the loop for a long, long time and donations might get lost along the way!
Amado
P.S. On the Latin side, the Archdiocese of New Orleans is also hard hit, as well as the Diocese of Biloxi in Mississippi and the Diocese of Mobile in Alabama. So, the USCCB might come into the picture if warranted.

Amado, Great point. Perhaps some one can contact the Bishop and have him direct where funding could go. P.S. On the Latin side, the Archdiocese of New Orleans is also hard hit, as well as the Diocese of Biloxi in Mississippi and the Diocese of Mobile in Alabama. So, the USCCB might come into the picture if warranted. Yes, but I think it would be nice if we help out our own. During the storms that hit Florida I evacuated to New Orleans and went to Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholaus. The people where so nice and the Church so small that I just want to help them out.

Ray S.
Thank you for that alert and I send a message to Father Jim's by e-mail to see if they needed assistance.
I like to look up bio's and saw your beautiful baby son receiving Holy Communion. I haven't seen that before in the ER, Orthodox yes. My last 3 or 7 children were Chrismated receiving Baptism and Confirmation only.
Just wondering about that point and would like feedback from members relative thereto.
Many Happy Years,
Jim
