I've tried many times but I seem to have trouble uploading an icon from my computer to use as my avatar. The size is prety small so I'm sure that's not an issue.

The system no longer accepts uploaded or linked avatars. If he does approve the proposed avatar, he will then provide you with a special link to paste into your preferences for an avatar.
