If I'm not mistaken, there were many believers, including many bishops, clergy, and monastics, taken there for execution. It was something of a killing field. The church was dedicated during the time of the canonical reunion of the ROC with ROCOR. Our brother, Alexandr, may offer more details about this. BOB
