I've searched the entire forum and the Byzcath homepage, news section, Faith section, etc and see NOTHING at all on the enthronement of the new Bishop of Passaic. Did anyone attend? Does anyone have pictures to post?

I attended, and served in the altar (as assisentia). It actually did happen. Too busy to take pictures.

As long as someone there was taking pictures, I am sure they will surface shortly!

I do like lots and lots of pics!

Glory to Jesus Christ!

I, too, can attest that the enthronement took place yesterday, as my wife and I had the privilege to attend. Bishop William seems like a very intelligent, good-hearted, and genuinely affable fellow -- though, during his homily, I kept thinking of the movie Fargo. "Oh, ya, that's super!"

Not enough Slavonic during the liturgy, however. And its absence felt very artificial. Oh, and I didn't notice any Orthodox clergy or hierarchs in attendance, which disappointed me.

I did notice Fr. Jim Hayer from Wilkes-Barre taking pictures for the newspaper. I don't know whether there are any plans to post them on the Eparchy web site.

In Christ,
Theophilos

My children and I were privileged to meet Bishop William in Uniontown last September and really liked him - he is friendly, personable, not the least bit stand-offish, and just plain nice. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures too!

I suppose one could further Slavonicize the Slovak "Viliam." I think I've seen William transliterated into Russian as "Vilchem." biggrin

William is usually the English equivalent for "Vasil".

What sort of presense was there of other Eastern Catholic jurisdictions? The more E-cath hierarchs of different stripes you get in a room, the more colorful the photos are garunteed to be!

Vasil = William seems odd, since Vasil = Basil. Vasil Butler Yeats?

I was wondering the same. I see a lot of Latin hierarchs there but can't make out which EC hierarchs were present.

Many years,

Dear Father Deacon,

What does "assisentia" mean? From the look of it, I'd guess that it's a Latin word - and in the plural at that.

Thanks.

All,
Thank you for the updates and pictures. I suppose in this instant age I was rather impatient!
