It was a joyful occasion this past Saturday because, apart from the fact that it was the feast of the Hypapanty, Archbishop Cyril visited my church(Saint Philip Mission)in San Bernardino,CA. Heordained one man to the Sub-diaconate,our Subdeacon was elevated to Deacon, and our Deacon to Protodeacon. Plus, as a pleasant surprise Archbishop Cyril changed Abouna Justins status from Administrator to pastor and bestowed on him the Epigonation. The archbishop was pleased that our church is growing in membership and hopefully it will not be too far in the future when we will be a parish. And to conclude this joyous weekend yesterday after Divine Liturgy in the afternnon we kicked off Lent by celebrated Cheesefare Vespers. What a spiritual up lifting weekend! AXIOS for our neww Subdeacon and Deacon. We also have potentially 2 more deacons in the works. By the way, I almost forgot to mention that because of our continually expanding congregation that Abouna is looking for a neww church property that the Latin Diocese can possibly sell us. Paul

Epigonation? Hmmm... will he end up being Archimandrite then?
