I believe Mr. Gore's function in this global warming campaign is that of a prestiguous spokesman rather than as the expert. That's what I found strange about his testifying on GW to a congressional committee. Obviously he believes in his cause; I simply challenge his expertise.



Interesting novel on global warming and its political/social impact is State of Fear by Michael Crichton. Admittedly, the extremes (e.g., murder) to which the GW adherents will go is a bit of a stretch; but it presents some interesting ideas. And it is a NOVEL - fiction!

Don't tell him that. Al Gore prides himself on the issues he devotes his energies to. Throughout his political life he dove into one issue or another, trying to understand it as fully as possible. He believes that he is an expert.
