Sonia Belcher, wife of Deacon Nicholas Belcher and mother of baby Andrew Belcher, fell asleep in the Lord last night. May her memory be eternal. Prayers for their entire family and for the newly departed handmaiden of the Lord, Sonia.

Memory eternal to Diaconessa Sonia and may the Theotokos comfort Deacon Nicholas and her family and look with special care on Baby Andrew.

Go forth, Christian soul, from this world in the name of God the almighty Father, who created you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who suffered for you, in the name of the Holy Spirit, who was poured out upon you, May you live in peace this day, may your home be with God in Zion, with Mary, the virgin Mother of God, with Joseph and all the angels and saints.

Eternal memory! Diaconissa Sonia was the director of admissions at Hellenic College/Holy Cross School of Theology. She died suddenly from a brain aneurism at the age of 32 celebrating her birthday that day with her family. Besides her husband, Deacon Nicholas, she leaves behind her four month old son, Andrew. I corrected the earlier posts in which their son's name was not correct.
My prayers go out for Deacon Nicholas and young Andrew at their loss, and that the Lord may grant them comfort and strength in the time to come.
In IC XC, Father Anthony+
Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

May our Lord have great mercy on Father Deacon Nicholas and his baby Andrew!! May the boy, who will always be motherless, grow up with every possible grace and gift granted by the Lord and much love from his father and all others in his life.
May our Lord have mercy on the soul of Diaconissa Sonia, taken from this life so suddenly and so quickly...may He forgive all her sins and take her into His Heavenly Kingdom. AMEN!
Kyrie Eleison! Kyrie Eleison! Kyrie Eleison!!!
In Christ, Alice

I am always horrified at the toll that cerebral aneurysms take. Its absence of symptoms, suddenness of onset, rare instances of survival, and the disproportionate number of the young who are stricken make it particularly frightening. As a unit medical officer in the army reserve, 35 years ago, my medics and I worked feverishly to save a young, newly-married soldier, only to have him die in our arms and learn later that there was nothing we could have done, as he had suffered an aneurysm.
Besides that memory (which is always evoked when I hear of this kind of thing), this particular thread just hit home more personally since, looking at the linked photo, I realize that I have met Deacon Nicholas and seen this young couple at various social functions at our Cathedral. (St George Antiochian is a neighbor to us and most of their and our families are related.) Memory eternal.

Holy Mary, full of the presence of God during your life you accepted with great humility the Holy Will of the Father and the legacy of your Son Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Evil never dared to entangle you with its confusion. Since then you have interceded for all of our difficulties. With all simplicity and patience you have given us example on how to untangle the knots in our complicated lives. By being our Mother forever, you arrange and make clear the path that unites us to Our Lord. Holy Mary, Mother of God and ours, with your maternal heart untie the knots that upset our lives. We ask you to receive in your hands Deacon Nicholas and his family and deliver us from the chains and confusions that have us restrained. Blessed Virgin Mary, through your grace, your intercession and by your example, deliver us from evil and untie the knots that keep us from uniting with God, so that once free of every confusion and error, we may find Him in all things, have Him in our hearts and serve him always in our brothers and sisters. Mother of Good Counsel pray for us . Amen
