Is it just me or are tetrapods/festal icons and taller iconostases both seemingly more common in Slavic churches than in Mediterranean ones?

Yes, taller iconastasis are more the Russian style than the Greek style.

Irvona is a small hamlet nestled in the hills of the Allegheny Plateau Bituminous Coal region of Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

The icons on the Deacon's doors were painted by Archbishop Job when he was a stationed as a parish priest in Pennsylvania. The name of the parish Vladyka was stationed in at the time escapes my memory. I'm thinking Monessen but I could be wrong.

Yes, and I think he also recorded their Prostopinije record while he was the pastor!

I will ask a friend of to maybe make a cd copy if he has the album. Vladyka Job always supported Prostopinije!(thumbs up for that!)

Russian Christmas??? What about Ukrainian Christmas? Belorusin Christmas? Greek Christmas? In my town growing up, we had a Ukrainian GC church and a "Russian" Orthodox church, both made up of Lemkos and Carpatho-Rusyns, and some Galicians, and before they both changed to the new calendar or revised new calendar, their Christmas on January 7th was always referred to as "Russian Christmas." There was a not a Russian in the bunch either!
