KREMLIN RULES
Putins Iron Grip on Russia Suffocates His Opponents
By CLIFFORD J. LEVY
A new autocracy now governs Russia. Behind a facade of democracy lies a centralized authority that is not reluctant to swat down those who challenge the ruling party.

Reading deeper into the article reveals the truth. Putin is trying to prevent the liberals especially the homosexuals from gaining control of that country. I may not have the entire picture, but I would rather vote for Putin than any of the current crop of leading U.S. Presidential candidates. At least he is a strong opponent of abortion.

"Their only aim is to obtain as much power as possible, to keep this power, by whatever means, and to profiteer off this power. In this respect, these people, who are so cynical, are much more dangerous than was the Communist Party of the U.S.S.R.

Putin hasn't been very kind to oppositionists and he has been centralizing power, but to say that the ruling elite now is more dangerous than the Soviets in the last century is quite a stretch. It's a ridiculous claim, especially considering that there were plenty of cynics in the party apparat.

Despot or free will? Which did God entrust us with?

An abortion free united mother Russia promotes it's holy Russian church whoes protective omophor is mandamus. It was Russia who raped its own mother Kyiv in 1169 and 1203 (showing Venice the advantages to sack Constantinople in 1204) leaving Kyiv for the deathblow of the Mongols. Their Khan boasted I will tie Kyiv between the legs of my horse after which he gave Alexander Nevsky the title Grand Prince (tsar) of Kyiv. Nevsky had expelled the Knights Templor and rejected treaties with European Christendom preferring to pay for the Mongol's friendship.

The more things change the more they remain the same. Remember Vladimir Putins attempt on the life of Ukraines Presidential candidate Yushchenko in Kyiv and his strangling of Ukraines gas supply to influence this independent neighbors votes. Hes not exactly keeping it in his pants (translate Putain from the French).

There was more than one attempt. Yushchenko's motorcade was pushed off the road before he was poisioned with dioxin.

I remember an article in the NYT years ago that slammed SUVs. The reported wrote the piece as if she had one, and had experience, etc... Guess what? She didn't even have a licence let alone an SUV.
Point; There is a thin line between Tabloids and what passes as legit reporting.
