People at my school have been spreading rumors about me, one of them is that I might be gay. Their basis for this rumor is that I am very quiet, don't talk about girls the same way others do, have never dated and am not interested in that at the moment, and that I have thought of being a priest (gasp that must mean I'm a pedophile in the making). I am so angry right now. I know that I should just turn the other cheek, pray for them, offer it up etc. but I cannot dispel my anger. Not violent anger mind you. It has gotten to the point where someone wrote on my door "You're so d*mn gay" "Burn in Hell" and so on and so forth. I know that those who are doing this are a minority of people on campus but its a small school so most people have already heard the rumors. I have only talked to a couple of friends here at school about it, so far my roommates only know about the rumors, not the door writing as I erased that the moment I saw it on my way to work, (4:30 in the morning so no one in my room would have seen it). They know about the rumors and have defended me in those regards, but this doesn't help me much as the damage has been done. A lot of people on campus have just dismissed the rumors as rumors, but some haven't and life is pretty sucky right now. I need prayers.

How horrible, Prayers. I had to deal with that crap too - I'm EXTREMELY quite and and have not had a girlfriend since 10th grade (I'm 20 now). Lucky for me I am very intimidating so kids didn't give me too much bs. Also lucky for me they never found out that I'm actually a huge wimp and could never fight anyone (afterall, Blessed are the meek  ) When someone goes through that it gives he/she the idea of what people who are actually gay go through. I'm quite the hot head, and besides prayer taking long walks in the forest or working out usually cures me and releaves stress. You might want to try that.

Prayers to you, I know what it`s like to be the subject of false rumors, although my situation was totally different. Just ask the Lord to help work through your anger and try to pray for those who are slandering your name.

My prayers are with you friend. I've had family and friends accuse me of the same BS. I just take pride in knowing that their heads are up their... (well, you know what), and take each day as it comes. Pray a lot, and hang in there.

Thank you all for the prayers, and for those of you who sent pm's. Right now I really don't want to go to the dean's office on this, I would rather let the rumors die out on their own. I've talked to a couple more people today and did the whole "ask someone if they heard this and what they think of it..." etc. (immature I know) and the response was very encouraging. Those who were asked said that they either hadn't heard it but it was a load of garbage, or that they had and it was a load of garbage. It seems that the only people who think I actually might be are those who spread the rumors themselves. Things don't seem as dark as they were yesterday. Please continue to pray for me as I will likewise pray for you all.

I need prayers. most of us remember college, kid. and I can tell you that some kids can be illegitimate children ( I had another expression in mind). oddly enough, I am a moderator for a site that is primarily young people (and young at heart, like me) I am on two familiar pieces of territory here. the accusations are but projections of their own insecurities, and you may be surprised that they have little or anything to do with you.just because you do not act the ladies man does that give anyone the right to accuse you of anything.what may shock the cockle doodle dandy out of some people here is that I knew of a person way back then who was known for scoring with everything in a skirt (figure of speech), and then one day tried making the moves on me, oh, he was not kidding around, go figure, and I am quite what Gay friends of mine would call "butch"(ROTC,trumpet player in Marching Band, outdoors type (limited now thanks to RA), thumbed across the country, 6'3, 180 lbs (then), color belt in martial arts, the whole nine yards). my prayers go with you kid, and for your accusers who need to get a life and get over themselves.
