I have read there are many Evangelicals who will be trying to convert us "non-Christians" during the Papal visit.

Shlomo Ray,

The question should be, how many of us will be prepared to refute the Evangelicals? That is why I wrote How Do Maronites Hear The Gospel. I was hoping that other Liturgical Traditions would followup with their own.

Here is what Gary Michuta wrote for Roman Catholics: How Do Catholics Hear The Bible [socrates58.blogspot.com].

These tracts are to the point and one having them with you if you go to the Papal events will definately short circuit them.

The Altar and the Holy Father's Chair have been built by Deacon Dave Cahoon of St. Mary's Church in Barnesville, MD.

Deacon Cahoon is proprietor of the St. Joseph's Carpentry Shop in Poolesville, MD. Among his other carpentry jobs were doors for the Iconastas at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Potomac, Maryland.

He has also worked in many of the historic Churches of Washington, including St. John's Episcopal Church, across Lafayette Square from the White House.

He made the altar and rebuilt the steeple at St. Mary, Mother of God, in Washington, where the Tridentine Mass is celebrated each week. And new pews for St. Patrick's, one of the oldest Catholic Churches in Washington, DC.

The Crucifix above the Papal Altar has been borrowed from St. Mark's Church in Hyattsville, MD.

A "first" in this papal visit is a sitting U.S. President personally will welcome Pope Benedict XVI when "Shepherd One," the pope's plane, lands at Andrews Air Force Base today at around 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

No U.S. President in history ever extended such courtesy to any visiting head of state.

In his interview with EWTN last Friday, Pres. Bush said he "sees" God in Pope Benedict's eyes!

The Pope has landed! cool

He was welcomed by Pres. Bush at Andrews Air Force Base, a historic first, and the First Lady, Laura Bush, and their daughter Jenna and a host of Catholic hierarchy!

Welcome to America, your Holiness!

President Clinton did not meet Pope John Paul II when he landed?

I hope Pope Benedict XVI will inspire our generation to spiritual health.

When Pope John Paul II came to Washington, in 1979, he visited President Carter at the White House.

On his other trips to the USA, he did not come to Washington.
