Dear Daniel,

Glad you find me amusing, Sir! smile

Now, let me get this straight . . .

You are (or will be) in communion with the EP, but your Spiritual Father is ROCOR?

How is that possible, since you are formerly outside the Church by ROCOR standards? (Or is it that your Spiritual Father is hoping you will come to your senses soon?)

How is it possible that you are in communion with a Patriarchate you consider to be heretical?

Do you agree with the position of the Antiochian Church on ecumenism?

What will you do if the ROCOR eventually reunites with the Moscow Patriarchate? Do you have a position on that?

I'm just rubbing my eyes here in a state of confusion!

Oh, and how do you react to this saying:

Orthodoxy or Death! wink

I work in a melkite kitchen every thursday, so yes I know they have close relations in the middle east. Its a shame.

Alex
arnt you Orthodox you sound like a ByzCath.
Most liberal Orthodox "jurisdiction" is the OCA.

After I get out of bootcamp, I will hopefully be around a ROCOR, Serbian, or JP Orthodox Church.
I make sure I do a jurisdiction transfer to a Traditionalist Church.

I am hoping after my first 2 years in the military if I am still alive to get stationed on embassy duty either in Athens, Moscow, or Jerusalem. My join up with the GOC of Greece Cyprianites or with Archbishop Chrysostom! eek

ROAC or HOCNA! No way! I would consider my self a Traditionalist not a Conspiracy Theorist....

Dear Daniel,

Actually, I'm "Orthodox in communion with Rome."

If you think that title is absurd, see the Administrator about it . . . if you dare . . .

And you said, "Christ is Baptized" earlier?

So you follow the new Calendar?

That's it, then. You aren't traditional Orthodox.

You have fallen into the modernist heresy! Don't you know that only Old Calendarists can get into Heaven?

Dear: Alex,

Christ is Baptized!

Orthodox or Death!!! Good man right there. biggrin

I should clear that up. My old spiritual father (ROCOR) has told me to go to the Antiochians, but only because of this individual priest, he just wants to see me become Orthodox before I get shipped to boot camp. My old Spiritual Father (ROCOR) has hand me over to the Antiochian Orthodox Priest, who he has deemed "worthy" i gusses of taking care of me spiritually. They have talked with each other. The ROCOR Hieromonk thought it be good for me to be there so I obeyed.

Most of the Monks on athos in "communion with him" consider him a heretic, and so does the MP.
Not hard for me to do the same.

How do I feel about ROCOR and MP reuniting? Let the sad divisions in Russian Orthodoxy come to an end!

No I am strongly against any type of Ecumenism and Modernization that any Orthodox Jurisdiction supports, especially my own. My parish priest has the same view as me.

As long as he doesn't go to ROAC or HOCNA.
Actually Daniel is getting a lot of suggestions along these lines, so watch it!

There was one rather clever turn of phrase in the discussions among this fringe; the Antiochian Orthodox Church, or at least a certain member thereof, was described as:

"Byzantine-Catholics-not-in-communion-with-Rome"

Alex,

Christ is Born!
Christ is Baptized!

let me confuse you a little bit.

So wait your Orthodox but in Communion with rome, how do you figure that, are you eastern Catholic?
I thought you were Ukrainian Orthodox.

Only Old Calenderist go to heaven please....

Quote
The Lord said go out and teach all nations and baptizing them in the name of ther father and of the son and of the holy spirit, he did not say go out and teach all nations baptizing them with in the old calendar...
Blessed Father Philotheos

The quote went some thing like that.

I follow the new calender right now because my parish does, but I will be old calendar when I start to attend a old calendar parish out of boot camp.

Dear djs,

That term describes my current UGCC parish perfectly! smile

Actually, its "bogeyman" is not Rome but our bishop who is seen as "more papal than the pope."

Dear Daniel,

You are right. I'm Ukrainian Orthodox . . . in communion with Rome.

Just like the Orthodox Church of the first centuries after the Apostles!

Other than the Pope, you can question me on any points of current Orthodox faith and practice and I will be happy to demonstrate that I'm even more traditional than you, you New Calendarist you . . . wink

So you will start jurisdiction jumping??????????????? NEVER a good thing as we have discussed many a time, Daniel!! BEWARE!!!!

When you are Chrismated, you will be asked to assent to obedience to your Patriarch , Bishop and the Spiritual Fathers in his jurusdiction which will be the Antiochian jurisdiction.

Slava Isusu Christu!

It's a shame that our brethren in the Middle East have dropped the pretence and all the assorted BS and realize that they should try to LIVE the life they say they espouse and treat one another as full brothers and sisters in Christ?

Your attitude, sir, is a shame. I have a feeling you'll end up in ROAC with the rest of the polemicist converts.

Dear Daniel,

I'm not in communion with anyone who is in schism or heresy.

We have no one in my Church who isn't in full communion with the Pope of Rome or who doesn't subscribe fully to the faith he teaches.

Dear Mikey,

"BS?" Now, now, we don't tolerate nasty language here, Sir!

It just irks my flesh when I read others use such nasty phraseology!

I can't imagine members of this forum who are given to using such profane language!

You must have meant, "Byzantine Silliness" surely? smile
