This year's international forum for sisters was held at Villa Maria Retreat Center in Villa Maria, Pa with Metropolitan Basil celebrating DL in their chapel.

This place is well known as a hotbed for new age hinduism of all stripes including: reiki, mandalas, enneagram, labyrinth walking, eco-spirituality, yoga, simplicity circles, etc.

Does anyone know who was responsible for choosing such a location for a convocation of Catholic nuns?

Recluse:

Where is Villa Maria, PA? Do you mean Erie? It seems to me that there is a Villa Maria Retreat Center in that city.

We have a retreat house here in Los Angeles run by some Catholic sisters who rent their facilities to all kinds of pagans, including Buddhist and yoga enthusiasts.

Bishop John of the Melkites had a retreat there one year (1994) and it was a disaster as we tried to pray with the banging of drums and the mantras coming from the next room.

Sheesh!

It is an annual gathering of Catholic nuns: Ukraine, Romania, etc. I believe that it includes the Latin Tradition. You can read about this in July's edition of Byzantine Catholic world.

It is on the border of Western Pa and Ohio. I believe that it is not too far from Youngstown.

I suppose the answer is "no".
