The Rev. Andrew Chura, 78, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008, in St Joseph Health Center.

Rev. Chura was born August 15, 1930, in Hazleton, Pa., son of Andrew and Anna Pragit Chura. He was the youngest of seven children. Rev. Chura attended schools in Hazle Township and Duquesne University and Sts. Cyril & Methodius Seminary. He was ordained a Priest on May 1, 1958 and served at various parishes and ministries of the Byzantine Catholic Church.

Rev. Chura was retired and in residence at the Infant of Prague Manor in Warren.

Rev. Chura will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, and Thursday, October 9, 2008, with the Funeral Liturgy being Friday, October 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Hazleton, Pa. Arrangements were made through Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.

Memory eternal to the Lord's servant, the Priest Andrew. May he be received at Heaven's Holy Table with the same love that he gave in his many years of service to God's people on this earth.
