I don't know where this goes! It was sent by a friend on an email list that I am on.

URGENT prayer request from Northern Ireland

I have just returned from Northern Ireland and the amazing Rally for Life on Saturday in Belfast held by Precious Life, the country's foremost pro-life group.

The Rally was originally intended to celebrate recent pro-life
victories there, but switched focus because of a new threat coming from the U.K. Parliament in Westminster.

Several pro-abortion Members of Parliament are trying to extend the Abortion Act of 1967 to Northern Ireland, where until now abortion has remained illegal (just as it is in the Republic of Ireland).

This WEDNESDAY, Parliament will take up the question of legalizing abortion in Northern Ireland, and our pro-life friends there are asking for our urgent prayers.

PLEASE PRAY that the Parliament will respect the convictions of the vast majority of citizens of Northern Ireland -- including all the major political parties and churches -- and keep abortion out.

You can get a full report on the Rally this past Saturday and more background on abortion in Ireland right here:

I also want to make sure you know about my father's talk at St.
Francis de Sales Church in Lake Zurich, IL on Sunday:

EVENT: Pro-Life Talk by Joe Scheidler
WHEN: Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: St Francis de Sales, 135 S Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich, IL
MAP: http://tinyurl.com/stfrancislz

My dad promises to say something about Northern Ireland at the talk (by then we'll know the results of Wednesday's vote in Parliament).

But whether or not you can make it Sunday, please keep the
situation in Northern Ireland in your prayers over the critical
next three days.

Yours for Life,

-- Eric

Pani Rose,

I've forwarded this to my wife who is on a Mary's (the Blessed One) email list and they often send out prayer requests. I've asked her to put this on there so we get a lot of people praying.

In Christ,

Aaron

Thanks Aaron! I am going to send the person who sent it to me, so he can see the replys. He is very active in Iowa with the pro-life movement. They are fighting Planed Parenthood right now over a proposed clinic.

One of the list memebers from Ireland replied to the post

Yes this is an important matter!

The Northern Ireland Assembly is totally against
this bill. Yet because of the position of
Northern Ireland the British Parliament may pass
a bill allowing it. This is a matter where the
Protestant Party (Ian Paisley's party) and the
Catholics are in full agreement.

Please pray

GLORY TO GOD!

The U.K. Parliament in Westminster chose NOT to impose abortion
Northern Ireland.
They could see that such a move would endanger the fragile political situation there.

This is a GREAT victory for life -- it means all of Ireland remains abortion-free.
