Forgive, O Lord, those who have died without repentance. Save those who have committed suicide in the darkness of their mind, that the flame of their sinfulness may be extinguished in the ocean of Thy grace.

For those contemplating suicide

Lord Jesus, You came into Your Own Creation to release us from the power of death and the lack of hope that living without You often brings. Help us to be Your Presence and Comfort to those who have lost a loved one by his own hand. Be the strength of those left behind to wonder why. Grant to those who are contemplating the taking of their own life an openness that seems to be lacking. Break down the barriers that are erected by those who feel that they are alone and without hope. Let them see that there are other human beings who care that they continue to live. Help them to have an inkling of their priceless worth, both to You who made them and to us You have gifted them to. Give us the Grace to show those slipping into despair that leads to self-destruction that they have worth and that there is hope, because hope is You and life in You. Grant all these things because You love us so much. Through the powerful prayers and intercessions of Your all-Holy Mother, Mary, the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin, who is by Your gracious gift from the Cross our mother, Lord Jesus, grant us all these petitions and save us all. AMEN.

I add my AMEN to the above prayers! Lord have mercy on those who have killed themselves! Lord change the hearts of those who are contemplating suicide!

Prayers for all contemplating the taking of their own life, for those who have done so, for the loved ones who must deal with wondering why and what they could have done to prevent it, and for all those engaged in the blessed work of suicide prevention.

PS - the link that Father Ambrose provided above to the Akathist for the Repose of Those Who Have Fallen Asleep has been repaired

I have sadly suffered this trauma not once but twice. The second time, I found the poor soul who in what must have been unimaginable confusion overdosed.

I pray for the repose of their souls daily.
