As I have never visited Mount Athos I was wondering if anyone here has encountered or heard of any monks on the holy mountain from the U.S or Britain?

Dear Dewi,
If you mean 'Western', as in Orthodox monks who are of American nationality vs. Greek nationality, I believe the answer is 'yes'.

I could be wrong but I believe an American from Mt. Athos was recently voted on to become an OCA bishop.

JOB:
Christ is in our midst!! He is and always will be!!
I've been told this man--don't know his name--is to become the new bishop of Pittsburgh. I've been watching for the date of his election by the Holy Synod and subsequent consecration, but haven't seen anything lately.
