Sue the drug manufacturer! You know I am just kidding. Not a real believer in sueing as my Lord and Savior rebuked the lawyers of the world.
Glad to hear our Great Physician raised His great right hand and had mercy on you. He must have great plans for you to make you stay in this sick world.
Now if it was me, I probably wouldn't have called the ambulance, but rather just spent the rest of my time praying to the Father to welcome me home and get me out of this hell.
I am happy for you though.

I think some lawsuits are completely ridiculous, but corporations don't get the message until they lose some funds. In the US, lawsuits are the only real way to make change happen, because capitalism is all about the almighty dollar.

I am happy for you though. Dear Stivvy, I understand what you are saying, but Bob is a husband and father. When we have families, this is our 'ministry' and thus, we are needed. Alice

Alice Understood, so am I. I wasn't saying he should have done that. I was saying it is what I would have done. I always remind the wife how to handle things when my time has come, make sure the life insurance policies are paid up, and stay close to my Father. He won't take me sooner than He plans. So no worries on my part about my family. They walk just as close with the Lord and they will be well provided for and see demise here as the begining of our true life in Heaven.

Sue the drug manufacturer! ALICE: Christ is in our midst!! He is and always will be!! I had to laugh. That's what a lot of people would try. That's the reason our medications are so expensive. These drugs have very clear warnings about long-term use. My physicians have warned me time and again. It's a risk. Do I take the edge off constant pain from degenerative disease and continue to work, helping people with my expertise? Or do I throw in the towel, go onto disability, sit at home, and slowly go mad? I've voluntarily taken this stuff, day after day. If I wanted to be angry, I'd look in the mirror because, like so many other people, I was convinced I would beat the odds. So I didn't. Now I'm back on the mend and readjusting to life without NSAIDS, as well as a whole handful of new drugs designed to keep my heart in shape. I still have to read the materials that came with them. BTW, I've seen a physician for a complete physical each quarter since 1993 while taking these meds. And nothing has ever come up. Blood work has always been normal--no enzymes showing heart shifts or anything else. Last Tuesday I was asked to put together a plan for an elderly woman living on less than $300 per month. The social worker said she knew about some of the programs that were available but not all. I put together a program that gets her Medicare paid, her funeral paid, a whole apartment full of new furniture and other household goods (which she really needs), and doubles her income without increasing her rent more than $20 in a subsidized apartment complex. Should I throw in the towel? Not as long as I can use my experience to make a difference in the life of another human being!! I truly believe this why the Good Lord has placed me where I am and protected me to this point. In Christ, BOB

I know what you mean about there being no warning, and our taking our own risks. I was on a medication for a non-conforming condition. It was a beta-blocker that controlled my retinal migraines. I was on this for five years. I also have asthma and knew that the meds I was taking were not compatible. But, as I was unable to see when the migraines hit I knowingly took the risk. Long story made short is that while having a routine physical and stress test I had a "cardiac" problem that put me in the CCU the day prior to Thanksgiving with 24 people expected for supper (another story here). This was when I was 42 years old.
I had to be detoxed from the beta-blocker because my asthma medication did not let my body to remove the excess and I went toxic.
So we take our risks and as long as we knew about them it is not the fault of the Dr or pharmaceutical companies.
