Let´s pray for HH patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. That during his time the churches of Rome and Moscow would build as close relations as the churches of Rome and Constantinople.
In the 80´s I made a turist trip to Vyborg in then Soviet Union. Vyborg (Viipuri in Finnish) is on the pre-war Finnish territory close to the present Finnish-Russian border. Kirill was then a assistant bishop to the metropolitan Alexy of Leningrad and Novgorod. I went to the Saturday vigil to the one end only orthodox church of Vyborg. A bishop was leading the service. Later on I learned to know, that he was Kirill. So I have recieved oil cross and blessing from the coming patriarch...
There are two MP parishes in Finland. Kirill has visited our country several times as a bishop of those parishes. He knows very well the life of the Finnish autonomous orthodox church EP.
And when he was set to the office of the patriarch, archbishop Leo of Finland was also present.
