may our Lord have mercy on the soul of Terri, may He bring comfort and peace to the hearts of her parents and brother, and may He bring His enlightenment and goodness to Terri's husband.
Amen.

That is really the most that any of us should say on this topic -- prayer.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged" refers to ultimate judgement, which is God's alone. It does not refer to objective judgement of sin.
Surely both Michael and the Bishop have failed in their duty as Christians.

That may be but it seems to me we could all afford to practice a little Christian humility, charity, and love.

To repeat what I wrote earlier: none of us have any clue what Mr. and Mrs. Schiavo have been through nor what Mr. Schiavo confessed to his priest.

(I seem to remember a story, something about the casting of stones...)

But we do have alot more than a clue, that Terri's parents strongly believed in the sanctity of human life, and that her husband was openly involved in an adulterous relationship throughout the ordeal.

Let's make one thing clear, Michael Schiavo never committed a crime. He went through the legal process and ultimately prevailed. What the Catholic Church decides it wants to do in this matter is one thing but civilly, Michael Schiavo is not a criminal. In fact the "laws" that Congress and the President passed were so unconstitutional that Republican courts struck them down and the Supreme Court would not even listen to the case.

Time to move on...

Under civil law, an abortionist isn't a criminal either.
