Lady Byzantine,
ByzKat is correct that the bishops have not appealed to the Ruthenian recension books to support the reform. Father David Petras (who has effectively been their spokesman) has gone to great lengths on this Forum and in his book to indicate that the official books were consulted but not considered authoritative. In fact, the translation was not made from them but from the Greek recension text.
ByzKat's second paragraph is confusing. The 2007 RDL does not move the Church closer to the normative Ruthenian recension. It is less faithful to it then the 1964 translation and even contains doctrinal problems in the text. This is demonstrable fact. When the 2007 RDL is compared to the 1964 translation it moves the Church AWAY from the Ruthenian recension. It needs to be corrected.
Deacon Tony has started a new thread on this issue. I will close this one.
