My screen name? As Jack Webb, of Dragnet fame would say: "Just the facts, Ma'am, just the facts." Kinda boring compared with all these inventive people.

yeah, mine is kinda obvious too. My first name and my last initial. I think, at the time, I wanted it to be just recognizable enough to those who might know me, and elusive enough for those that didn't. It could also stand the test of time.

When I first concocted mine - more than a decade ago (to register at some Latin site that no longer exists), I wanted people to know that I was Melkite (afaik, there weren't a lot of us on-line at the time), but also wanted folks to realize that one could be Melkite without being ethnically Middle Eastern.

It was never really meant to assure anonymity. I've never kept info about my real life secret and it wouldn't require the skills of Sherlock Holmes to put together enough about me that one could find their way to my doorstep.

Many years,

Neil

When I first joined this forum a little over five years ago I chose "porter" because it represents a gatekeeper or someone who welcomes people. The porters in the monasteries are usually older monks or nuns. I am probably one of the older posters here and hopefully have stability in my life. To me the name porter also represents someone with the gift of hospitality.

My screen name is just what it means. When I joined I saw that most people's screen names were not their real names, so I went with it.

Okay, I am 72 years young and still growing, not taller but older and wider. (Whoops, I meant wiser) wink I have children older than many of you. And my first high school students (taught them) are now getting social security) biggrin

Mine is a reflection of how naive and unthinking I can be because it comes from my email name. Someone pointed out to me that it was kind of foolish to use the name I use for my email. Then I realized that it was and wished I could change it. Oh well.

Actually Pani Just means madam on both Poland and all of Ukraine. A Priest wife in Poland or Western Ukraine would be Pani Matka. Eastern Ukraine would be Pani Matushka or just Matushka :)

And I thought you were a teenager at first, until you started talking about retiring or something of that sort.
