Going to be in Philadelphia next month and was curious if there is a church I really shouldn't miss.

This is my personal favorite Orthodox parish. I was baptized into (then) Orthodoxy here back in 2000. It is a small ROCOR church but very welcoming. The pastor is the nicest man.

Here are some Byzantine churches:

There is a very nice Byzantine gift shop right across the street from the cathedral. I'm not sure about their hours but I remember that they are open to 4pm on weekdays.

Hope this helps. Philly is part of my old stomping grounds.

My daughter attends Church of Our Lady when she is in school. She is their pet Greek Catholic, sings in their choir. Father Athanasy is a joy, but not in the best of health. They have a military chaplain who helps him out when he isn't feeling well.

Wow. I'm sorry to here about Fr Athanasy. He really is a great priest. It's nice to here that your daughter can participate in Church life there. It just goes to show you that, despite all our outward divisions, we are all Christians under the skin.

PS. Is the chaplain who assist him ROCOR, MP, or another jurisdiction? If its the later, it just goes to show you how far the ROCOR has come from when I was in it. Father had me baptized because, at the time, I was thinking of possibly becoming a priest and going to Jordanville. I guess that since I was a Catholic I would have been re chrismated but Fr thought that the people at Jordanville would have "problems" with a Catholic unless he was re baptized.

It was a very memorable experience though. I am probably one of the few adults who have actually gone through an Orthodox baptismal ceremony. I only wish that I had a video camera to record it.
