In your charity please up in prayer Father Robert Taft, S.J., who is in hospital in Rome. Details unknown except that he had planned to return to Washington, DC to see his doctors.
May the Lord God heal his servant, Father Robert, and restore him to fullness of health and grant him many years. Christ is Risen!

The Dublin congregation and of course I personally are praying for the healing and recovery of Father Archimandrite Robert. God grant him to live and work at least until he completes his magnum opus, the History of the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom!

All, I am happy to report receiving an email from Father Taft this morning that indicates his back surgeries in Rome on May 7 and May 13 were successful. He was released from the hospital to his residence at the Oriental Institute last Saturday where he is resting and continues to recover. He is getting around with a cane and some unsteadiness, but the extreme pain from a herniated and broken disk has been alleviated by the surgery. He still plans his 3 month summer program of lectures and seminars in the US starting around June 1. He is most appreciative of all the prayers from members of the Forum, and others, and thanks God for his speedy recovery and return to an active schedule. We are planning another recording session for OLTV with him in August. We have already recorded 19 lectures on the History, Theology and Spirituality of Liturgy that we made last summer and during his January visit, and which are now available on CD and DVD at: http://olconference.com/lectures.htmlJack Figel
