Abby, Abby, Abby, my dear sister, you must get those shoes organized!! wink

Hey, she has another pair just like it!

Women just don't understand what goes together. After almost twenty years, she still thinks that that plaid suit and plaid shirt didn't go together . . .

And as for shoes . . . a man needs a black pair of boots, a brown or burgundy pair, and a snakeskin pair . . . see, it's easy . . .

My shoe selections are easy. Some years ago my physicians mandated that I wear nothing again but a specific brand of cross training shoe--no leather soles, no heels on shoes, no other brand. Severe back injury.

I've got a black leather pair to wear to work and two other pair to wear to the gym and just kicing around.

They do so go together. biggrin
I taught my mother that many years ago.

I've always had an ample collection of plaid flannel shirts --- not remarkable.

On occasion, I have had a plaid bathrobe --- fairly normal.

Once upon a time, when I had a plaid robe, mom bought me a pair of (different) plaid slippers --- comfy, but a bit odd. smile

The straw that broke the fashionista's back was when mom, at Christmas, bought me a pair of plaid pants (of the sort some golfers wear, I guess).

This, of course, brought out the fashion diva in me.

I attended Christmas dinner in shirt, pants, slippers, and robe --- all different plaids, of course. biggrin

Mom stayed away from buying me any plaids after that.

My kilt is Old Buchanan. My Tie is Buchanan modern. No one seems to notice they don't match.

From shoes to kilts and ties, that seems as logical a
progression as any we've seen here. When you say "Old
Buchanan" do you mean "ancient colors" or "weathered"?
For those unfamiliar with the subject, Modern Buchanan
tartan might well be described as "eye-catching". Ill-wishers
of the clan have been known to refer to it as "garish", but that
is no doubt out of envy.

If illustration is desired, Google "Clan Buchanan Tartans".

The kilt is "weathered colors" of the Ancient pattern.
The tie is darker modern colors.

It's pretty clear why Buchanan holds the motto Clarior Hinc Onus (Brighter hence the Honor)....

Y' dare no misbehave in the bloody thing, cause EVERYONE will notice!

But it sure is comfy in cool and hot weather. I was in my kilt for my wedding.

I knew i!

They were both rather subdued, the same color, with the shirt a smaller pattern in similar colors to the suit.

More recently, after going through an executive recruiting service, I seem to have acquired a more modern sense . . . I've actually been stopped by both men (mostly black) and woman to comment on how "sharply" dressed I was . . . this tends to be a good business suit, an eastern tie, and boots . . .
