I've been watching medieval history videos on UnitedStreaming, and I was wondering: since the Hagia Sophia fell to the Muslims, what has been the parish church, as it were, for the Patriarch of Constantinople?

I believe it is St. George's Church.

A beautiful Church within the grounds of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Phanar.

I believe they have the relics of the Maccabees there (or something like that).

There is a relic of the True Cross, St. Gregory the Theologian, and St. John Chrysostom.

There is also a beautiful golden dove hanging from the center above the Royal Doors, which is also a tabernacle for the Precious Body.

Interesting people assume St George as a "parish church" given St Anne's which is very popular for weddings is often described as the the parish church of Vatican City and located just inside one of the gateways into Vatican territory. Is St George the acting Cathedral of the Patriarchate given the real one was made into a mosque and is now a museum.
