My 26 year old son will be in his last year of Law School in MO this coming year. He is working as an intern at a Law Firm in D.C. and normally takes the D.C. Metro Red Line train home that crashed yesterday. When I heard the news about it, it was instant "mother panic" until I could get him on the phone. He was not able to leave work at his usual time and so, missed the train.
I was up half the night in grateful prayer for his safety. It was a horrible crash - so far 9 dead and 72 people injured with some critical. We need to be praying for everyone involved.

Lord have mercy! Though I offer my prayers for the souls of those taken by sudden death, and for their grieving friends and families, (not to forget also those passengers who are injured physically and emotionally by this disaster)--I rejoice dear sister in Christ, Abby, that your son is fine.

We never know the will of God or the time of our death, and I believe that if it isn't your time, it just isn't your time, but surely, I also believe that the prayers of mothers for the safety of their children, whether they are adults or young ones, can help protect them from bad situations.

Bottom line: we should always pray for our family members.

In Christ,
Alice
