I just got home from my daughter's home in another state. She had her second baby and it was a very difficult time. I spent almost 2 weeks there to help out. Because things were so fragile for awhile, I did not get to try out an Orthodox Church in the area I wanted to visit. I really missed going to Mass. It's as if something slips away when I miss the service, and in its place comes a hollowness. It was a stressful time, and I am grateful all is well for them now. I am also thankful to be home and back to my church family.

Abby,

Congratulations, grandma, and may the Lord bless your grandchild with many happy and healthy years.

Neil

Glad all are safe and healthy, and that you returned home well.

God grant to you all, many blessed years of peace, health, and happiness.

It must have been nice to cuddle with your grand baby. The first weeks are tough.

I feel the same way when I miss mass.

Thanks Terry for sharing that ... I am often very quick to say that is just "another" indicator of my pathetic spiritual condition. It helps to hear another committed Orthodox share things like that.

But God knows the intentions of your heart, and he also knows the situation at hand. Sometimes there is only so much we can do. God provides!
